Vax doses secured to achieve 70% population protection

MANILA – The government has secured nearly 195 million doses of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines that can inoculate 100.5 million Filipinos until the first quarter of 2022.

The government, Dominguez said, has so far allocated USD1.302 billion for vaccine acquisition.

Wala ho tayong problema sa pera. May financing na lahat ‘yan at we have (We don’t have a problem about the money. We have funds for all of that). We don’t have to worry about any, about money here. We have all the money ready to be paid for these doses,” he said.

To date, the Philippines has received 48,885,590 doses, with 31,433,450 already administered nationwide.

The government targets to vaccinate at least 77 million or 70 percent of the estimated 111 million total population. (PNA)
